Your contract will specify your child’s days and hours of care
* Since the number of hours a school-age child would be here varies depending on the times they are to be in care, this will be subject to these variables.
** Before and after school care, includes no-school days and sick days, also summer as needed.
Definitions:
Full-time is 25 hours or more per week. Part-time is less than 5 hours per day. If you require full-time hours fewer than 5 days a week, divide the full-time rate by 5 and multiply by the number of days you need care. Drop-in is care that is not on a regularly-scheduled basis

Philosophy

I believe we all have basic needs that must be met in order to be healthy and successful. It is my responsibility as a care provider to ensure that your child’s needs are met while in my care. I promise to:
1. Safety - provide a safe place for your child to discover new things.
2. Identity - honor and respect your child’s background, heritage, religion, and any other aspect of his identity.
3. Affection - show your child love and respect.
4. Acceptance – show your child respect and friendship regardless of our differences or similarities.
5. Participation - include your child in and adapt activities to her physical, mental and social capabilities.
6. Creativity - encourage your child to open his mind and heart to adventure and imagination.
7. Rest – allow your child to learn and grow at her own pace.
8. Freedom – respect your child’s ability to make age appropriate choices, to have an opinion that differs from my own, and to be able to express these.
As you may notice the word respect carries a lot of weight with me. I will talk to your child not at him and I will talk to her at her level (eye and understanding). I believe children act as they are treated and teaching manners is a lot easier when you’re using them.
No corporal punishment, humiliation nor intimidation will ever be used.
Meals & Menus

I participate in the Mountain View USDA Food Program for healthy meals and snacks.
All meals and snacks will be served according to USDA and WA State health and nutrition guidelines.
I will serve Breakfast and Lunch as well as snacks depending on the hours your child is here.
Infants are fed according to their own schedules and I will work closely with you on your child’s
transition to solid foods when appropriate. A snack will be served to all children arriving after school.
Nutrient concentrates or supplements (Pediasure, Ensure, etc.), a modified diet or an allergy diet are
prohibited in licensed daycare except with the written permission of the child’s health care provider.
Staffing

My husband Mike, our assistant Stacey, and I provide care in our home and will never have more than 9 children in our care at a given time. This allows us to provide your child the one-on-one attention he or she needs along with the ability to provide small group activities that will teach your child social skills.
