Curriculum:

Studies have shown that children learn best in a home environment. One highlight of my program includes my monthly curriculum program. Each month we will learn about counting, days of the week, months of the year, seasons, letters, numbers, finger plays, learning games, health and safety, poems and stories, creative movement, several arts and crafts, and more.

I also take the children on short field trips for fun and learning (for example, a visit to the fire station, police station, or post office when we are talking about community helpers). In addition to short field trips, we will take one or two all-day field trips during the summer (The Zoo, The Museum, etc.). Sometimes there will be a small fee for field trips. I will always tell you when a field trip is coming up.

Philosophy

The motto of my daycare is "A Parent's Dream", and I honestly believe that my program truly is a parent's dream. I opened my daycare with the concept of merging the best qualities of a home daycare along with the best qualities of a daycare center (ex. Kindercare). I have experienced both sides with my own daughter, and I remember the things that I really liked about both, as well as the things I did not like. I have put a lot of time and effort into my daycare, and I do the same with the children in my care.

I am a very loving, conscientious and motivated person. I opened my program in the mind of families who cannot live as comfortably as they would like due to the cost of daycare centers, but who do not want to compromise their children's social and educational growth as a result. However, I know that all children and families can benefit from my program.

My program is designed to offer all of the great qualities of a daycare center, but at a more affordable rate. It is bothersome to me that hard working families cannot bear the amount of children they really want because of the ever rising cost of daycare centers. My goal is to make a difference in this issue and leave parents assured of great care and continuing growth of their children.

Meals & Menus
I participate in the USDA Food Program. Participating in this food program requires that I have certain guidelines at meal times that I must follow. At breakfast time, I need to serve bread or a bread alternative, a fruit and milk. At lunch or dinner time I need to serve a bread or bread alternative, a meat or meat alternative, 2 servings of fruit or vegetables, and milk. At snack time I can serve any two food groups.

I serve breakfast, a mid-morning snack, lunch and an afternoon snack. Your child must be present at meal time to be fed that meal. If your child arrives past our meal time then he/she will need to be fed before arrival. Meal times are listed below:

Breakfast 8:00 to 8:45
AM Snack 9:00 to 10:00
Lunch 12:00 to 12:45
PM Snack 3:45 to 4:15

Below are some examples of the foods
that I serve in each food group:

Breads: Wheat bread, English muffins, bagels, crackers, pancakes, French toast, oatmeal
Fruits: Apples, bananas, apple sauce, canned pears, fruit cocktail, grapes, pineapple
Vegetables: Corn, peas, carrots, broccoli, green beans, potatoes
Meat or meat alternate: Hamburger, baked chicken, fish, chicken nuggets
Juice: Will always be 100% fruit juice

Parent Information

Open communication is vital to encourage your child’s growth. Knowing what your child is experiencing during his/her day allows you to reinforce those skills and activities at home. Therefore, daily and weekly reports on your child’s progress will be provided. I also encourage communication as to any questions/concerns you may have.

Please call or email Ingrid for more information, and to make an appointment to see our daycare!
