As Reggio Emilia educators; we know that, children must: 1. Have some control over the direction of their learning, 2. They must be able to learn through experiences of touching, moving, listening, seeing, and hearing 3. They need to have a relationship with other children, families and us; their three educators, 4. Physical environment is very important for Hello Kiddies; we plan the spaces used and remodel old spaces integrating classrooms with the rest of the house. Hello Kiddies considers parents to be a vital component to our program, they are viewed as partners, collaborators and advocates for the children and educators. Educators respect parents as each child's first teacher and involve them in every aspect of the curriculum. Community involvement is a significant part in our program; we expose children to the “outside environment” and plan activities involving the community. Hello Kiddies values relationships, and inspire children and parents to stay with us, their three same educators for a three year period, creating consistency and an environment where there are no added pressures from having to form new relationships. Registration Information: We open our home and hearts to all families regardless of race, nationality, or creed. Before enrolling a child, we conduct an interview to introduce our family to parents, to explain our program, and to respond to any questions that the parents might have. These include physical development, cognition and language, social and self development, and creative development. We plan activities and build on spontaneous opportunities to support these learning skills. We have individualized goals for each child as well as goals for the group as a whole.
