Description Of Center:

Little Giggles Childcare is located close to 127th and Black Bob in Olathe, with easy access to I-35, just 2 blocks west of Countryside Elementary school. We have a great playroom with lots of toys, including a baby swing, exersaucers, tummy-time mats, many building toys, play kitchen, and much, much more. There is also a group activity area where we can do lots of fun arts and crafts. There are lots of books for story time, as well as the entire set of Baby Einstein movies. We currently have a 3-way play tent outside and will be getting brand new playground equipment this Spring. Our backyard is fully fenced in. My home is smoke-free and pet-free indoors. My family does have two dogs, however they stay outdoors at all times, and are contained during the children’s outside playtime. The children will not have contact with them. Each child will have their own crib/pack n’ play or sleeping cot with their own bedding.

Qualifications:

I am licensed with the State of Kansas. I assisted in my mother’s home daycare facility most of my life. I have been CPR and First Aide certified by the Johnson County MedAct. I have also attended many classes provided by the Johnson County Health Department regarding the growth and development of children. I also participate in the Child and Adult Food Care Program (CAFCP). Each year I continue my training by furthering my education through classes and workshops. I am also a wife and mother of a beautiful little girl.

Philosophy:

I have a low child/provider ratio because I feel that children need lots of individual time and attention. I offer a preschool like curriculum where we work on numbers, letters, colors, shapes, and so much more. However, I try to make all learning fun and interactive with no pressure on the children. I strive to give all children a chance to learn and grow intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically. There are toys and activities for all age levels.

I provide daily take-home sheets to allow the parents to see what we did and how their child interacted and what they learned each day. I encourage creativity everyday and I strongly believe in positive reinforcement. Each month parents will receive a meal menu and a newsletter with information about the activities and projects that the children have worked on throughout the month.

I understand how hard it is to be a working parent and that is why I offer extended hours and a nurturing environment for your children. I have dedicated an entire level of my home to the children in my care. I believe that children learn through play and fun activities.
