DESCRIPTION

Our Center focuses on Social and Emotional Development. We have a teacher to student ratio of 1:6. Our staff is highly skilled in helping children with any behavioral difficulties, issues with making friends,struggles with transitions etc. Clinical Director is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years experience working with families and children. Our Center offers parent groups, classes based on Love & Logic principles, and offers positive encouragement and support to help kids have fun and make friends! Yoga, art therapies, movement therapies, Theraplay activities etc to help children learn to talk about feelings, resolve conflicts and engage fully in social activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Our Clinical Director specializing in working with families in transition, either due to foster care, adoption, blended families, divorce issues etc. Our entire staff has their STARS credits, CPR, First Aid trainings and a love and commitment to working with children. PHILOSOPHY

We believe in attending to children's every emotional need and that children who struggle with social interactions or who don't succeed in traditional childcare, need special attention, and need to be included rather than utilizing strategies such as time out which only isolate the child further. Our staff is trained to offer a unique program designed to help kids feel safe, cared about and encouraged to join in the fun! Power struggles by children are seen as coping skills that are no longer functional, and children are taught how to understand themselves and their peers through positive and engaging interactions, enjoyed with loving and caring adults and friends. We believe in the importance of positive experiences, and that each child is unique and special. We believe in community and supporting our families...and offer a wide variety of options for families to participate.

REGISTRATION & TUITION

Due to our very small program size, only 35 children will be enrolled. Our program is a one year program, so once filled, enrollment will be closed until July 2010. So please visit our website for more information,so your child can benefit from this unique program!

STAFFING

Staff to Child Ratio 1:10 during childcare hours (8 am to 10 am and 4 pm to 6 pm), 1:6 during program hours of 10 am to 4 pm.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

DSHS subsidy accepted for a small number of students. Adoption Support will also provide stipends to some families. In addition, a small number of sliding scale slots are available each year.

CURRICULUM

Our primary focus is on Social & Emotional Development, with an academic foundation. Principles of Love & Logic and Theraplay are utilized in our program development. Please see our website for more information or call for a Parent Packet to be sent to you.
