Description Of Center:

Here We Grow is located in a great cul-de-sac with a huge fenced in backyard for outdoor play. The 1,000 sq. ft., walkout basement has lots of large windows and sunshine. The open floor plan provides plenty of room for circle time activities, games, math, science, and literacy centers, dramatic play areas, and a large circular table for creative activities and socializing during lunch. The art room is great for hands-on fun and "heart-felt" creations. HWG has an open door policy for parents...just ring the buzzer.

Qualifications:

* State licensed daycare home.
* Certified elementary school teacher with a highly
qualified status through the KS State Department of
Education since 1992.
* Experience with daycare and preschool children.
* College credit courses in Early Childhood Education.
* CPR and first aid certified.
* 12+ years experience as a mom.

Philosophy

My goal is to offer a safe place to learn and grow by helping children to further develop their sense of self-value, confidence, imagination, the love of learning, and a feeling of being accepted for who they are. The climate at HWG is aimed at the development of the whole child. I believe that children are more successful when they can play and learn in a positive environment where respect, kindness, compassion, and having fun are the usual way. My favorite part of teaching is reflecting back to the children their unique qualities that make them so special.

Curriculum:

Here We Grow Daycare Home offers a Preschool Curriculum which encourages social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth. All preschool aged children are exposed to music, art, and stories through group and independent activities. Emphasis is on developing a positive self-concept, refining gross and fine motor skills, and promoting reading and math readiness. Character Development is an integral component at Here We Grow. The children will have many opportunities to work independently, function as a contributing member of a group, and have periods of quiet time too. All daily activities filled with lots of love, laughter, and lasting friendships.
